sand sculpture festivals,

government of Putuo
District and zhoushan

the festivals in a

position, the government
of Putuo Distict and
Zhoushan City established
the Zhoushan International
Sand Sculpture Company
Ltd. The company which
is nationalized and
sole-investment schemes
and operates the sand
sculpture festivals
in the concrete; consolidates
the communications
and corporations with
sand sculpture circles
both at home and abroad;
broadens and popularizes
activities of sand
sculpture to other
countries and scenic
areas, which have
beaches and sands.
The company has held
the 2003 GoTone China
Zhoushan International
Sand Sculpture Festival
successfully, since
it established. In
the festival, 43 sculptors
who from 10 countries
caved the large combination
of sand sculpture
works with the theme"the
greatest wonders in
the world". The
area of the combination
is 10,00 square meters,
and the highest peak
is about 12merers.
It has 55 single works
and set a new record
of large combination
of sand sculpture
works in China.
